Leicestershire CRC and Behaviour Change Meeting

Posted by: haydn On: 27th Jun 2011

A thank you to those who attended the seminar at our offices in Glenfield, which highlighted the legislative pressures facing businesses, including the CRC. And- the clock is ticking! It is only 11 months’ until the first  allowance sale, so any steps that can be taken to reduce consumption will mitigate the impact of future allowance sales.

As agreed we have attached the presentations given by myself and Haydn.

At the forefront of any energy reduction strategy must be staff engagement, but achieving this is not easy. Behaviour change is not about energy awareness but driving a cultural change to work in a more sustainable manner. The aim is to engage staff to want to change not push them to do it.

The GAIA programme includes an energy profiling system which develops an understanding of the behaviour behind energy consumption patterns, and identifies areas of potential waste. This allows us to direct the client behaviour change programme more effectively, provide feedback on the success of the changes, and more importantly, celebrate that success across the client organisation.
